About RF-SISU Västra Götaland

RF-SISU Västra Götaland is the regional organization of the Swedish Sports Confederation and SISU Sports Educators, which develops and supports sports in Västra Götaland. In their development work, they want to create participation, strengthen democracy and shape a common direction for the sports movement by conducting popular education and training in associations. When the time came to develop support for the associations, they wanted to work to strengthen the basic ideas of popular education about learning from and with each other. The development of the association would not be a matter for the board – it would reflect the whole association and help make more voices heard.

The Challenge

Developing support for associations in a way that meets their real needs requires both breadth and depth. Previous efforts had often been driven by smaller groups, such as the association's board, which risked missing important perspectives from young people, parents and leaders. This time, the aim was to create real engagement and ownership of the process – but how do you do that in a context where many people are volunteers and have limited time?

The Solution

With the help of Vocean, RF-SISU Västra Götaland was able to invite to a broad dialogue, both before and during physical meetings. Participants could easily share their thoughts and co-create via their mobiles, and responses were collected in real time. Vocean's AI functions also helped to quickly sort and group free-text responses, identifying patterns and needs, and enabling rapid progress in development work.
